CareFlow

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about CareFlow and the CNA certification process.

Is CareFlow free?
The written practice tests on the CNA practice test page are free and need no account. Creating a free account also unlocks the skills simulator, flashcards, and progress tracking.
Does CareFlow replace my training program?
No. CareFlow is a study aid. Your approved training program, your instructor, and your state nurse aide candidate handbook remain the authoritative sources for exam requirements.
Why do skills checklists differ between states?
CNA skills exams are administered by different providers depending on your state — Prometric, Credentia, D&S Headmaster, or a state-administered program. Each publishes its own checklist, so the same skill can have a different number of steps. CareFlow uses the state you set during onboarding to show the checklist that matches your exam.
How many questions are on the written exam?
It varies by state and provider. Most written exams run roughly 60–70 multiple-choice questions with a time limit around two hours. Check your candidate handbook for the count and passing score that apply to you.
Are the AI explanations reliable?
CareFlow uses AI-supported study tools, and AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate. Verify anything important against official sources and your instructor. See our AI disclosure for details.
